Developing a biblical perspective on life
Amidst the world's turmoil – Covid-19's toll, unmanageable floods, uncontrollable fires, global warming and earthquakes, destroying homes, infrastructure, agriculture and economies - how does the Bible see this? If God is love, why does God allow this?
Increasing liberal interpretations of Scripture, and using the Bible to justify our modern lifestyles and morality, even in the Church. Does God mind? Is the Bible relevant? Isn’t it old fashioned; how can we expect our children to be interested; hasn’t science disproved the miracles, and especially Jesus' resurrection? Is there any hope?”
This course, presented by retired Anglican minister Murray Dixon, traces the promises of God from Genesis to Revelation, exploring the old and new covenants, the place of Israel and the church, noting the continuity of purpose of God’s scandalous love, and God’s response to those who respond positively and who react negatively.
